Hypothetical question about love..?

I found it much easier in the long term when my ex moved away and started seeing someone else right away. we dont have any way to get ahold of eachother now. he told me he never wanted to see me again, that hurt a lot. but I was able to move on more quickly and easily and it was easier to put our relationship behind because I knew there was no way it was going to have a chance again. I didnt have to agonize over seeing the other person all the time or be unable to start a new relationship whole-heartedly (which has also happened to me). By far it was easier to not see the person and let the past be the past.
