My lecturer (female) told me I am gifted, talented and an outstanding student..?

Was she lying? I am twenty and shy. Do you think she maybe just said this so I would be more vocal in cles? I don't think I am these things. I got a first in my degree last year but only as I am a hard worker--not gifted, talented (in what I don't know) and outstanding......
