Is it bad if I don't get my period on the day I'm suppose to take the spacer pills for birth control?

I'm on my second month for taking birth control and I had breakthrough bleeding a couple weeks ago. Today is the first day I should get my period but I didn't get it. Also, I haven't taken it yet since I take it at 5PM. So, would I get it AFTER i take it? or is there still something wrong that I didn't get it today.
