Can an U.S. Article III Judge be on inactive status to pursue another career and then return to the bench.?
For example, if I were a federal judge could I ask to be moved to inactive status to pursue a career in medicine or to become a musician and then return to active status down the line. Also are there part-time status Article III judges or judges that are on "special ignments" (e.q. international justice forums or courts) that may or may not return to regular federal bench duty at some point. If so, what are some of those possible ignments? (e.q. are some special prosecutors federal judges on ignment or are some of them reffered to as "Judge" because they are former judges ?)
